We've built our brand around being radically transparent. As a customer, you know our values. You know we are rooted in American soil with a focus on quality American grown cotton. You know we are committed to American manufacturing and we are committed to an heirloom quality product.
The last two commitments are what I want to discuss.
In October of 2025, we were notified that our finishing partner (the business that dyes and prints our fabrics), is closing their doors. We rushed to get as many yards of our cloth in before they shut down their factory. This caused a severe disruption in Red Land Cotton's operations. This manufacturer is one of the last WIDE (wide enough to make a bed sheet) fabric finishers in the United States. So when we got this news, we pivoted. We contacted anyone and everyone we knew who MIGHT be able to run our fabric in the United States.
A handful of companies have stepped up. However, due to the fragile nature of the industry, the companies that have stepped up don't traditionally run cotton sheets. They once did, but those days are gone and they are re-learning the craft. The other vendor that does run cotton sheets has had mechanical issues and hasn't been able to run our fabrics. This is going to result in variances and differences in some of the fabrics as we get up and running with new vendors. I'm telling you this because we want your feedback. If you received a piece of Red Land Cotton recently that wasn't up to standards, let us know so we can make it right. We're committed to getting this right and making a quality durable product. We're committed to American manufacturing and we know we will get our partners to the same quality we were at before this plant closed. So, when you have seen things out of stock for a long time,THIS is why.
Let's discuss prints. So, now we can't print our sheets as we have done previously because that capability doesn't exist any more in the United States. Can you believe that? So we do what we do best, we pivot. We are working to engineer our prints so we can still offer you our Hydrangea Print Duvet Covers and Shams and hopefully we can still offer you our Hydrangea Print Sheets, but they will look different. More than likely, you will see prints as trims on our pillowcases and flat sheets.
I don't want to leave you without a note of hope. While these have been some of the hardest months Red Land Cotton has faced in her 10 year history, the vendors who have stepped up to help us solve this problem have been phenomenal. We've collaborated, tested, and done some things that are somewhat unconventional to get fabric flowing again into our cut and sew plants and onto our shelves. And THAT is the power of being American Made. It's the collaboration and the determination to make something work, the willingness of manufacturer's to re-learn a process or put new methods in place to achieve a goal has been inspiring and remarkable.
Lastly, I want to thank our customers for your continued loyalty over the last 10 years. Your support and trust means the world to us and we want to continue to serve you in the best way possible.
